Meet the Horses of Stag Ridge Stables
Thanks for visiting the Stag Ridge Stables website! For those new to our journey, I thought it would be helpful to provide some background information on our horses. We currently have three horses on our farm and each one has a different story. Fist, everyone meet Bravo! Bravo is one of those once in a lifetime horses. He joined our family during my sophomore year of high school (top left picture is the day I picked him up). He is a 21 year old Argentine Sport Horse. We competed in three day eventing throughout high school & college. After years of showing and many blue ribbons, Bravo is now retired and enjoys long trail rides and gallops around our farm.
Next up is Tilly! Technically her name is Matilda, but we only call her that when she’s in trouble. My mom and I picked up Tilly up from a horse broker six years ago. She was scrawny and scared when we arrived (last two pictures are from the day we picked her up). Although she wasn’t exactly what we were looking for, we knew we could provide her a soft place to land. So we loaded her up in the trailer and brought her home. Tilly is now sassy and full of personality. She is our resident escape artist and loves to follow Bravo around.
Last but not least is Dancing Star. Star was a given to us by a family friend my sophomore year of college, but I have known her since she was born (last two are baby Star pictures). We used to visit our friend’s farm when I was younger and Star was always my favorite with her long pretty mane. Little Anna thought she was a princess pony. When our friend fell ill, they asked if we would like Star. Of course my parents said yes and off we went to GA to pick her up. Now Star lives on our farm in TN and I’m pretty sure that younger me would have been really excited if she knew that.
